Shoji Panel

Japan taditional Shoiji is a wooden door, window or a room divider panel which consisting transparent warlon sheets on the lattice frame. Shoji usually slide but may occasionally be hung or hinged.

Shoji are valued for not setting a sharp barrier between the interior and the exterior. As exterior walls, shoji diffuse sunlight into the house; as interior partitions between rooms, they allow natural light deep into the interior. And, Shoji give visual privacy but do not use as sound proof material. Somemore, this traditional sliding doors cannot be locked.

Traditonal shoji panels are used in both traditional-style Japanese houses and in Western-style housing, especially in the traditional japanese style room – washitsu.
